Frequently Asked Questions
Don't see your question? Call (205) 386-4511.
Do you file taxes virtually or in person?+
Both. Most clients file 100% virtually — you upload documents, we prep, you sign electronically. Local Birmingham clients can also schedule in-person appointments by request.
What are your hours?+
During tax season (Jan 1 – Apr 15): Mon–Fri 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM CST. Off-season (after Apr 15): Wednesdays only, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM CST.
How fast can I get my refund?+
The IRS issues most refunds within 21 days of accepting your return when you choose direct deposit. We e-file the same day in most cases once your return is signed.
What documents do I need?+
See the full Document Checklist. Common items: W-2s, 1099s, ID, Social Security cards, prior-year return, bank info for direct deposit.
How do I send my documents securely?+
Use our secure upload page. Don't text or email sensitive documents like W-2s or your ID — use the upload portal so your data stays encrypted.
How much does it cost?+
Pricing depends on the complexity of your return. Simple W-2 returns start lower; self-employment, multiple states, and itemized deductions cost more. We quote you before any work begins — no surprises.
Can I bring family or a friend to my appointment?+
No extra guests. Only the client whose return is being prepared (and spouse if filing jointly). This keeps your private financial information safe.
Where are you located?+
We work from a private home office in Birmingham, AL 35206. The exact address is shared in your confirmation email the day of your appointment after you confirm. Most clients file virtually from anywhere in the U.S.
What if the IRS sends me a notice or letter?+
Bring it to us. Don't ignore IRS letters. Most are routine, but they have deadlines. We help current clients respond at no extra charge for the first review.
Do you offer refund advances?+
Yes — qualified clients can get an advance on their refund. Ask us about it during your appointment.
What if I'm missing a document?+
Start anyway. You can upload missing documents later — we'll hold your file until everything's in.
